Non-Violent Communication as a Tool for Permaculture

Do you want to cultivate your skill as both designer and facilitator?

In this session we will offer a basic introduction to the practice of non-violent communication with a particular focus on its use for permaculture design. The central work of NVC is learning to listen deeply to get to the heart of the matter—understanding out deeper needs rather than clinging tightly to particular strategies to meet those needs. Permaculture similarly asks us to design with end goals in mind rather than fixating on a few strategies. Practicing NVC hones our skill in diving quickly to the root need and cultivates our flexibility and resilience when finding solutions. Furthermore, building your skill as listener and facilitator will enable your design process to flow smoothly, whether you are working with clients, a partner, or by yourself.
