Seed Saving and Permaculture w/ Hands-on Seed Cleaning

While permaculture often focuses on perennial systems, saving seed from annuals, biennial and perennial crops is often overlooked as an important element of adapting our food production to changing climatic and economic conditions. This session will explore how seed saving relates to the principles of permaculture and how this might fit into building regional seed resiliency. We will cover the basics of how to save and adapt seed from most common plant varieties with resources for further investigation.

Scott Vlaun is a writer, photographer, market grower, and seed saver. His photographs and writing were featured in the Seeds of Change catalog, website and eNewsletter which he edited for over a decade.
