We've built a financial system based on the assumption that we will have endless energy to subsidize endless economic expansion. We have created a world in which almost all of the systems that make up our daily lives are completely unsustainable. I believe that either we begin to build a different world, or there will be no world capable of sustaining a large-scale human presence. This is why I've begun my transition from a conventional way of living to a sustainable way of living. I'm learning the skills that will be needed to build a better world.
